Checking Health Through Body

After a bowel movement, did you peek in the toilet before watering it with water?

Probably some will firmly say "no", but doctor Andrew Rochford says occasional monitoring of body waste can be beneficial to health.

"My advice, check from time to time to make sure everything is normal," he was quoted as saying News.com.au.

Body waste, whether stools or urine, may be the first sign of health problems.

The color of the urine can also be an indication of your health.

No need to sniff or touch the dirt, just consider whether there is a change in color or smell different and immediately consult a doctor if there is something awkward.

If the color of the urine is very dark or reddish, it's time you check-up.

If the color is transparent or light yellow, you are healthy and stay hydrated.

"The urine of honey color means you have to drink immediately and if it is very dark or like syrup, you are probably dehydrating heavily, worse yet, your heart may have problems."

About feces, Rochford says the ideal color is light brown to medium.

"The stool should have slumped slowly before drowning at the bottom of the toilet, not falling like a bomb."
